spring fever

hiya kids!
the SACs over. yay! definitely not looking forward to having to do that again.
even though its autumn time here in aus, there is still a lot of spring inspired fashion floating about (undoubtedly from the runways of europe, where it is spring) things like beautiful pastels and soft, flowy dresses. but for me, i associate spring fashion with florals! here are some thing i'd love to get my hands on:

general pants dress- $49.95

just jeans skirt- $49.95

sportsgirl blouse- $69.95

yellow peril boot- $139.95

i have quite a few floral items in my cupboard, but here are my favourites and the ones i wear most regularly:
this dress is from ynot, which is a cute little independent boutique in chadstone shopping centre. i love this dress and the way i feel when i wear it- it gets me in the mood for a party. it can be worn with boots, heels or flats, and works with tights or stockings underneath.

this is a valleygirl dress i grabbed off the sales rack for a mere $5. it works well as a cute daytime dress, in fact, i wore it to my sweet 16th :)

my sweet 16th. uber ugly photo, i know, but its the only full body (mostly full) photo of the dress that i can find. im wearing it with a quick brown fox jacket in the picture.

this last dress is one i bought at lolitta in 2010. i actually wore it to the synagogue service for my brothers' barmitzvah, with a cute cropped jacket. it also works as a daytime or night time dress, depending on how you accessorize it!

i hope to show you all some more of my clothes soon!

bloglovin.

I'm a sucker for a good blog, particularly those relating to fashion. I also find that the best ones aren't associated with any magazine or website, but are independent ones run by people like me who just really love their fashion and want to share it with the world.
Sandra Hagelstam is studying fashion in London, and runs the blog 5 inch and up (click here to immerse yourself in its beauty). This is one of my favourite blogs that I look at regularly.
Here are some of my favourite pics:

Simply divine.
Dig Sandra's style? Here are some pieces similar to the ones displayed in the pictures:

American Apparel Dress- $44

Forever New Coat- $149.95

 Forever New Dress- $90

Tony Bianco Pumps- $179.95
 Topshop Cardi- $68.40

Topshop Jeans- $59.45
Please note- I convert all prices to AUD so if the actual price is not the same as the one listed here, its only due to exchange rates.

Well I'm off for today. I have a SAC next week and I really need to get some studying done. See you all soon. xx

orange dreams

Orange is such a vibrant, happy colour- it can complete an outfit even when just featured subtly. Orange was a huge colour over summer, and its still popular among designers in their autumn collections. Leaves turn orange during autumn after all!
 Gucci- Autumn/Winter 2012/2013
 Donna Karan- Spring/Summer 2011/2012
Alex Perry- Summer 2012

Here are some lovely orange pieces that will brighten up your wardrobe:
 Sportsgirl Tank- $19.95

 ASOS shorts- $32.44

 Topshop skirt- $72.60

Topshop Dress: $57.80
 Dotti Blazer- $89.90
Santini Wedges- $60

I have gotten in on the orange action myself. I bought this orange H&M skirt in Israel for 30 shekels. I'm wearing it with my friend Sophie's Cotton On singlet.

lovely things today

i'm baaack

hello there folks!
i'm back, new and improved. i've ditched the old blog (thank you to all my followers for their support, btw) and have decided to start fresh, with a new aim. and here's why.
last november, 3 days before i headed off overseas, i was lucky enough to sit down and chat with emily power, fashion consultant on tv show "the circle". she has my dream job- a journalism and fashion combined career. she was really helpful and gave me heaps of advice. but her most important thing she said to me was that i had to get my name out there. you have to be known. she said starting a blog is a great way to do this (btw you can check hers out at www.emilypowerfashion.com).
its taken me a bit longer than i hoped to actually start one up, as i really had to decide what type of blog i wanted. but after doing a lot of research (as much as VCE will allow)i have finally decided to run a blog aimed at teenagers 13-18 years old, who want to be informed about the latest, up to the minute fashion trends, and ways to execute them, without having to spend loads of cash.
It's a common misconception that in order to look good, you have to spend a lot of money. Wrong. Because society today places such an emphasis on looks, stylish and trendy pieces are available everywhere, for very reasonable prices. And even if they're not, it's fun to be adventurous and inventive, right?
So yeah, that's basically it as to why I've decided to create the blog. I'm going to try update it at least 3-4 times a week. I'm also going to be joining the world of Twitter (something that freaks me out, as I'm a Facebook girl through and through. Follow me!)
So enjoy blogging! I'll speak to you all again soon.
xoxo
