Fashion Fix- The 2012 Logie Awards

I am an awards show junkie, and when I cuddled onto the couch to watch the Logies I began to get very excited. As soon as the red carpet started, I knew I was in for a treat. There were so many beautiful dresses last night, matched with perfect shoes, jewels and clutches. However, there was more than one fashion faux pas. From now on, whenever there is an award show/major event, I will be presenting you with my top 5 looks, and my bottom 3. Here we go.

BEST DRESSED

Delta Goodrem

Woah. There aren't enough good words to describe this dress. Delta looks so ravishing in this gorgeous floor length white gown. This gown is a perfect reminder that "less is more" when it comes to fashion. With very simple hair and minimal accessories, Delta still shines. Delta means "the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet", and there is definitely some sort of grecian goddess vibe about Delta in this dress.

Asher Keddie
Asher Keddie really was a winner last night- not only in the fashion stakes, but she won the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress. She looked quite statuesque herself in this gorgeous figure hugging J'aton gown. It really did compliment her in every way, and the lace detailing was just beautiful. Once again, very simple makeup and almost no jewellery allowed this dress to be the statement piece.

JENNIFER HAWKINS
We did see quite a lot of leg last night at the Logies, as quite a few women opted for a short frock over the traditional long ones. But Jennifer had the best of both worlds: she got to wear a gorgeous satin frock, and also show off her killer legs at the same time. The colour of this dress is so striking, and could have very easily not worked and looked tacky. But Jennifer managed to pull it off. The slit in the dress is perfectly placed, and lets her cheeky sky high pink heels add another cool colour to the whole look.

Laura Dundovic

This dress wasn't really a favourite among fashion critics, but I absolutely love it and I think Laura looks stunning in it. This slinky black Matthew Eager creation is perfect for Laura. I think there's a sort of gothic feel to this dress, which blends in nicely with the old Hollywood-glamour feel I also think the dress has. I really love the jewelled belt around the waist. The minimal hair and makeup also makes Laura look even more stunning than she already is.

Megan Gale

Megan Gale is Australian red-carpet royalty, and the Logies were not exception. Megan looked absolutely stunning in this Alex Perry dress. The top half of the dress is so funky and creative, it adds a splash of colour and creativity to this simple, yet gorgeous dress. And the quirky black and white clutch just adds another dimension of dynamite to this whole look.

WORST DRESSED

Livinia Nixon
I actually really like the bottom half of the dress, and the top half isn't too bad either, but I absolutely HATE them together. This whole dress is wrong in so many ways. I think Livinia wanted too many things on the dress, none of which work together. Two toned dresses can totally work, but not in a dress that has such elaborate detailing. And those two big flowers on the shoulders are just hideous. I think that there's too many elements working against eachother on this dress, and that she should have opted for something much more simple.

Kat Stewart

I actually really love the nude style dresses, however I really don't like this look. Kat definitely took a risk by wearing this dress, but unfortunately, the risk was not worth taking. The black pattern on the dress just looks like a really bad whole body tattoo. And I really dislike the bottom. Asymmetrical dresses can be absolutely fantastic, and there were certainly some gorgeous ones last night, but the bottom of this dress is just wrong. It looks very flimsy by the way it just sits between her legs, and seems like it would be very uncomfortable. What could have been a beautiful dress, was just not.

Sandra Sully
Sandra looks like some kind of very weird shimmery mermaid in this dress, and it does not suit her at all. In fact, this dress is way too young for her. And what are those silver rectangles stuck all over the dress? It looks like inside wrappers of a chocolate bar. And I'm not loving the hairstyle either, it's very Nana like, and if you look closely, she hasn't even dyed the roots at the base of the hairline. Overall, not a great look by Sandra.

Anyway, that's my fashion wrap of the Logies. It's my first time doing one so please let me know if you liked it by commenting!
